the initial question....why?

that's what the few people that we have told have asked us.

why?

why would you give up everything that you've worked so hard for in your life.  why would you up and leave all your friends and family. why would you give up the stability of your life.

great questions.

hopefully we'll be able to answer them.  if not, we'll have an answer eventually in our lives.

there is something special about our family.  it's tough to put a finger on it.

we are going on a feeling?  a feeling of getting away from the rat race.  to take a chance. to not look back at our lives and say that we wished we had done something different.

being a parent, we want to give our kids every opportunity to succeed - every parent we feel has that in mind.  we want our kids, to experience as much as they can and to help them succeed in what they want to do.

sounds selfish and self-centered?  not at all - if it was, we would be selling and packing today.

as much as the kids say they are on board with the idea, we are making this decision as a family.  each child is getting together a list of pros and cons. about how their life would change and what they would miss.  cause lots will change.

we have no idea how much.
